We had a wonderful Valentine's Day!!! We played Valentine's games, made cards, ate treats, and passed out Valentine's to each other! We also got to play on Bounce Houses!!!
Group 1: We are moving quickly through units now that we have all learned how to sound out cvc words and are currently on unit 1.6!
Group 2: We are reviewing phonics skills so that we can read all words in 2nd grade texts.
Group 3: We are working on comprehension and answering questions about texts.
All groups have also started their very own journals! One of my favorite things to do is pull out my own personal journals from my elementary years and look at what I wrote. Our students are working hard to make these journals their own and I hope you will keep them at the end of the year and look at them for years to come!
Math: Most students passed their test on adding double digit numbers without regrouping! We are going to start adding with regrouping next week! We are also learning about measuring with inches, feet, and yards.
Science: All groups have finished the States of Matter unit and will be learning about Rocks next!
Thanks for all you do!!!
Wow, December and January flew by!

Our homeroom learned about the States of Matter last week and we have been attending Ms. Bre's class this week for Social Studies! We've had a few review days in Social Skills and I was able to assess everyone on their progress with the Zones of Regulation and with sensory needs.
We had a fun guest speaker in January! A karate teacher came to our 2nd grade classes and gave a lesson on how to respect teachers and parents! We also learned about focusing and positive thinking! It was so much fun!
Language: We have almost completed PALS Testing and we have completed DIBELS Testing. I'm so excited to let you know that all of our students have made significant progress in reading, spelling, and writing! I'm sure we will keep up the hard work for the next two terms!
